Because we post issues of The Crossings monthly, we accept submissions at any time.
We accept a wide variety of submissions from fiction and creative non-fiction to poetry and visual arts.
Send any written submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org in an attached Word document.
Ideally, written submissions should be no more than 3000 words, although longer submissions may be considered. There is no minimum length requirement for submissions, we love short pieces whether they are fiction, non-fiction, or poetry.
Also send any submissions of visual art to email@example.com in an attached file. Make sure the image you send us is of good quality. You may need to compress the file a bit in order to send it in an email, but in that case please send us the highest quality image you can.
If you have created a painting, please take a high-quality photograph of it to email to us. If you need assistance with this please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
All submissions must be in accordance with our content agreement, which you can view here.
We especially encourage you to submit written work along with visual work, whether you produce both pieces yourself or collaborate with another artist to create two or more works that interact with each other. This is by no means necessary, but at The Crossings we love to publish multiple pieces of art in conversation with one another.
Thank you for your submissions. Each of them helps contribute to cultivating a thriving art culture at The Crossings and at Bethel College.
